Forks

Look for signs of damage on the forks when inspecting a used forklift. Bends and cracks signify wear and tear in a forklift. If you spot such damages, you will need to change the forks soon. Also, look at the fork blade. If the upright fork thickness is not the same as the blade back, it is a sure sign that the forks are worn out.

Mast and Lift Chains

Check if the mast has welding marks or cracks. The mast integrity will be compromised with a poor welding job. Check the mast in the middle for missing pins and corrosion. Check if the mast operates smoothly. The mast rollers should not be lopsided.

Forklift Tyres

Safety Features

Check if the safety features such as seatbelt, lights, horn, levers, brakes are functioning optimally.

Odometer

Check the odometer reading. Has it been reset? The physical appearance of the forklift should match with the odometer reading. If it doesn't, then probably the odometer is reset.
